About Me

Hello!  Thank you for visiting my website and learning about the services that I currently offer.  I want to share how I got to this chapter in my career and a little about me.

I came to Chiropractic and Functional Medicine looking for solutions.  Like many of us, our history takes us on a journey that includes injuries and illness.

At the age of seventeen I was severely injured in a head on collision.  The impact was so great that my liver ruptured and I sustained head, spine and hip injuries.  This accident was layered on top of many injuries I had already experienced as a gymnast and athlete.  Learning how to remain active and manage these injuries was my impetus to become a Chiropractor.  Early in my career I chose to specialize in Rehabilitation to teach patients how to do the same.

My passion for Manual Medicine and movement re-education provided a foundation to help others heal.  Having a background to blend joint health with soft-tissue therapy and physical exercise helped patients become independent with skills to care for their bodies.

During my career as a primary care Chiropractor I saw many patients that did not fit into a musculoskeletal diagnosis.  Chronic inflammation, thyroid and metabolic disorders, degenerative osteoarthritis or unrelenting digestive issues all contributed to their pain history.  Through collaboration with Functional Medicine doctors I learned about the many underlying causes of these conditions that were not addressed in conventional medicine.

Functional Medicine became the primary health care for my family but we did not escape illness.  Leukemia, Lyme disease and auto-immune challenges became all too familiar in our family.  Being able to witness Functional Medicine’s approach to investigate illness and offer treatment to address the patient, not the disease, sparked my passion to begin my training.

What I want to share with patients suffering from illness or injuries is an understanding that takes all parts of our being into consideration.  Addressing stress, inflammation, sleep and nutrition is a lifestyle that can be learned.  Starting can be the hardest part but knowing where to start allows you to begin.  I invite you to take the journey, look under the hood and see how you can improve your health, heal and have hope again.
